As most of the Mid-Atlantic and North Eastern Bluegrass Networks are aware, my Martin D-18 GE Guitar Ser # 1367130 was stolen at the Wind Gap Bluegrass Festival early this past Sunday Morning as I was seeing a friend back to their camp site. The investigation is through The Bushkill, PA Police Department.
Attached pictures of the Adirondack Spruce top show it's unique grain of it’s top ... and take note of the slightly lighter stripe that is about 3 inches wide running dead center of the bridge down to the bottom.
This is sad not just for me ... as I feel like I have lost a very close friend ... but it also affects our entire Bluegrass community and family because it hits us all so close to home. This thief has committed the ultimate betrayal and it affects all of us promotors, artists, patrons, and organizations including the Wilmington Fest, Delaware Valley Fest, ABFA, Harry Grant, OATS and more ... not just me. I can't believe that anyone would do such an evil-evil deed to us ... especially at our music park.
Thank you all for the calls, notes, support, and concerns that I've recieved. I can only advise everyone to keep your instruments under scrutiny and put away if you're not using it as the season continues on.
This person has committed a Felony Crime ... they will be caught ... will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law ... will do prison time, and their remaining life will henceforth be ruined ... plus their families lives are going to be majorly impacted too when they get arrested ... and hopefully soon.
If the person who did it is reading this, you still have a chance to redeem and save yourself by somehow getting the guitar safely into the hands of the Bushkill Police and I’ll ask no further questions.
Currently, I have a $1,000 reward up for the information that leads to the thief’s arrest and conviction, and the safe return of my D-18.
