Hey folks..........Sorry for being so far out of the loop for the past several months. My wife's Dad took ill and died on July 13th........small cell lung cancer.......guess it's best not to smoke.......I was riding "shot gun" for him ( as he put it )for the past 3 months. This 84 old wonderful man was a great gardener and sportsman.........we'll miss him dearly.........but we know he is in Gods presence now.
Dobro....that's the subject..our next meeting will on August 29,email me for details..

I'm looking forward to getting together with you other squareneckers! I don't want to say how long I've been doing the brassfinger string dance, but I own an OMI squareneck that I bought brand new in 1971!
I recently bought a maple Wechter Sheerhorn (Lordy, what a voice!) and also own a highly modified Johnson SN (No soundwell, Beard cone, etc.)
I'm playing with a band called Northbranch- the last Friday of every month we play at the Gardenville Inn in Gardenville, PA.

Our next Resonator Guitar meeting will be on May 2, 2009 in Hellertoen, Pa. at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Hour for the meeting will be 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
The basic agenda will to offer suggestions for a modified name for our group, also we'll talk spider cones, saddle brige and string selection. Rick G has donated seven Bluegrass disks that we can use to play along with. We will "free wheel" like we always do. The mood of the meeting will be set by those attending. Hope to see you May2

My sincere thanks to Rodney for modifying the name of our association. There was a question with using the name Dobro in our association's name. Dobro is actually a tradename like Kleenex and care must be used when applying this name to unrelated groups, organizations and references. I asked Rodney to help with me with this and as always......Rodney jumps right on the problem or work requirement and fixes it..... immediately......what a guy......Thank you Rodney!!!

Hi Tom,

The web site is impressive and I wish your organization all the best. It's nice to know that there are people who want to keep this instrument in the fore front.
